June-July 2015...

With June-July having the lowest mean temperatures of the year, between 6.6 ° C to 21.6 ° C this is with out doubt the time to attempt a traverse of the Simpson desert on foot.  Of course temperatures can and do drop below 0 ° C at night and can get into the high twenties and thirties during the heat of the day.  Leaving at this time will ensure I conserve water, walk in relative comfort and will give me over a year to successfully plan my trek.

There were no lies here. All fancies fled away. That’s what happened in all deserts. It was just you, and what you believed.
